Birthdays and More

Happy late birthday to Makinna, who turned 1 year old last Thursday!

Happy Birthday to Christy of New Hope!! (I had to say that because next year that will be different.) I can't believe you're 25!

In other news, our "cute little kitten" tried to cut off my toe today. Looks can be so deceiving!

Lately I've been missing my friends an extra lot. Missing the times when it was so easy to get together. I can't wait to see all my meemaws for Christmas. Which reminds me; I have a job for them. Please, please post or email me your favorite meemaw picture...and yes, they can include peepaws and baby meemaws (someone please find a name for them!)!!!! This is for a surprise!

I forgot that I said I'd post pictures of us "playing trucks" so here's one. Maybe I'll get around to posting more later.

So I'm finally updating. Aren't you all glad? Right now I am tired from sitting here on dial-up for two hours (I hope no one tried to call), so this will be quick. We got a new kitten. His name is Cosmo (like Cosmo Kramer). I rescued him from work. We came back from lunch one day and he was all alone under a bush. I think he's 4 or 5 weeks old. He still licks your fingers and stuff like he's trying to nurse but he eats regular food as long as you wet it. He's very cute. And so you see, we don't need another meemaw baby. Sometimes I can't believe how often people ask about us having a baby. Why am I talking about this? Let's move on....
Last week we went off-roading on our club's "Ultimate Adventure" which turned out to be not quite so ultimate. I'll try to post the story and pictures tomorrow.
Next Tuesday is our anniversary...I can't believe we've been married two years already.
It turns out that I am fast becoming addicted to blogging. I may not update this one regulary, but I read everyone else's religiously. And then I post comments and link from those blogs to other blogs, etc. I just wish I had clever titles and posts like some of my wonderful friends. They keep me updated on world events and general fun info. For example, where else could I learn things like the history of Good King Wensceslas, that Meemaws have very cute babies, that I am friends with John Wayne and am married to Jimmy Stewart, that my friends love Lucy, that everyone needs a pair of pink shorts, and that you can buy a soul's salvation for $48? For those of you who don't know what that means, just check out the links on the side of this page.

Doctor's Report

From Ty and Angie:

We took Abby today to see Dr. Herndan, a pediatric urologist, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He changed her antibiotic, so hopefully!! this one won't cause her severe constipation and gas like the last one. By looking at the ct scan of her kidneys that was taken in July, he said her right kidney looked smaller and on the outside didn't look like it formed properly. He wants to take another x-ray in 6 months and go from there. All depends on if she has anymore kidney infections or urinary tract infections. At this time, her renal reflux looks bad enough that she would have to have surgery to correct it, BUT it all depends on if she has anymore infections and how her kidneys look in 6 months to a year. We are praying that it corrects itself!! On a happier note, she's gaining weight!! She now weighs 9 pounds 4 ounces. I know that doesn't seem like much for an 11 week old baby, but we've been working hard at gaining weight since she came out of the hospital in July!!

P.S. Happy Anniversary to Ty and Angie! I can't believe it's been two years!

New House

Well, it seems that I haven't posted in quite some time now. So, first of all I'd like to thank our family for helping us move...we really appreciate it, Donna, Anthony, Aaron, Joe, Brenda, and Matt!!! We accomplished the move itself in one day. Then we had to go and clean up at the trailor so we could our deposit back. Yet, now that I mention it, we haven't gotten that deposit back so far. Right now, most of the house is settled, but of course I still have a few boxes left to unpack and put away. The most frustrating thing now is the mail and the lack of real tv. But having our own house is great! It may sound silly, but I still get excited just looking at our ceiling...I think "this is OUR house; we Live here."

On another note, I've been reprimanded for not having pictures up of all the babies in my life. So I'm finally posting pictures of Makinna and Hannah.

Another Meemaw Baby

I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Beth and Scott, proud parents of the second meemaw baby in less than a week. Her name is Hannah Elizabeth Slayton and she was born this afternoon. Both mom and baby are just fine. Welcome, Hannah Elizabeth!!! I'll post pictures as soon as someone emails me some.

Homeowners at Last!

Today Wade and I became homeowners! We closed on our new house this afternoon. It's hard to describe how excited we are. Everything looks great, landscaping included. We were excited to find out that we also own the trees next to us. I think our place is the nicest in the neighborhood, with the house across the street on the corner being our only rival. We're planning to move this weekend, but we'll also be taking things over during the week. It almost feels like we're real grown-ups now. I may be going a little overboard, but I'm posting pictures so the few people who look at this page know right away what the new Weathers house looks like. Compare these pics to the first one I posted. Let us know what you think.
